Manual Alignment
You can manually align the camera and solved tracker locations if you like. This technique is the usual approach for tripod-mode shots. You can also use manual alignment after using the Place tool on regular camera tracks, though it is more accurate to set up a coordinate system using the three-point method above.
To align manually, switch to the 3-D control panel and the Quad or Quad Perspective view. Turn on the Whole button on the 3-D control panel, which will select the currently-active camera or moving object (typically Camera01) in the viewports and also turn on the selection-lock button
. There's no requirement for the selection-lock to be on; it is usually convenient, so Whole turns it on automatically. Don't forget to turn it off (when you turn Whole off, Lock will turn off as well). You’ll need to click Whole twice to turn it off; more on that shortly.
Then, use the move
, rotate
, and scale
tools to reposition the camera/object using the viewports. As you do this, not only the camera/object will move, but its entire trajectory and its trackers as well. With the selection lock turned on, you can scale or rotate around any location in the 3D environment.
If you place the cursor inside a camera or object’s pivot square, you can scale or rotate around the exact center of that object. This is particularly important for cameras, as scaling around a camera center precisely maintains your existing camera match.
If you have multiple camera shots in a SynthEyes scene, SynthEyes will recognize some situations where adjusting one camera requires adjusting the other: stereo and linked trackers from one to the other.
In other cases, to manipulate multiple shots (cameras) in the scene identically, click the Whole button a second time before starting anything, and it will change to read Scene, ie Whole Scene mode. In Whole Scene mode, all your cameras will be affected simultaneously.
In summary, clicking the Whole button changes it from off, to Whole mode, then to Whole Scene mode, and finally back to off.
